Hello, Northern Michigan! We're Chris and Lila!

This is my very first blog post! Hi, I'm Lila, Chris's wife. Chris started CJ Hardwood Floors in 2007, just mere months before we met. The next year I convinced him we should make a website and I've been the Chief Marketing Officer of the business ever since! Chris prefers to keep a low profile, isn't into having his photo taken (unless it's with a big bass), and about died when I said I wanted to start doing blog posts for him! So let's start small with some behind the scenes information about the business.

Chris's dad was a carpenter and his neighbor had a hardwood flooring business. Needing to stay busy, liking working with his hands, and always wanting extra cash to buy more fishing gear, Chris started sanding floors when he was 15! By his mid-20s he was an expert and ready to tackle the business side of the work. His parents loaned him seed money to buy his own equipment and CJ Hardwood Floors was born! While Chris has been serving the greater Ann Arbor area for decades, he added the Lansing and Okemos region when we moved there for my work in 2017. We're now splitting time between northern Michigan (Presque Isle near Alpena) and the Ann Arbor area and looking to expand our service area again.

Chris loves the almost instant gratification of seeing the beauty restored to old floors and enjoys being in different homes and working for different clients.
